I know many schools are already on break (lucky britches), but I'm only in the home stretch. This week has been pretty chill after Wednesday. I had an exam on Monday and an exam on Wednesday. So since then, I basically had five whole days to study for my next exam on Tuesday and my last and final exam on Friday. At first, it was really chill and I had my study schedule all planned out. I would study 1/3 of Statistics on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday and then I would have the weekend to just review.
Man oh man I fell off track by Friday. I would be up very late, but I was not working efficiently at all. In addition, I wouldn't head to bed until around 4am, so I would wake up really late and groggy. Yesterday (Saturday), I didn't get much done either. I was out of the dorm all day, but I ended up just reviewing a few chapters and then I was on the computer the whole time. It felt sooo good though to just chill, not worry about school, and let time roll by. I ended up watching a lot of TV afterwards too when I got back to the dorm. VH1 was having a countdown of the Top 100 Songs of the 90s. I flippin' love VH1's countdowns!! Besides, Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" got the #1 spot. Holla!
Anyways, today's Sunday and I finally finished all I was supposed to have done on Friday. I've still got time left in the day and I'm going to review ... or prepare to review. Smiles. Then, I'll start reading for my Asian Mythology final tomorrow and Tuesday. I can't wait until I get my finals over. I'm super stoked to go home. Even though I've only been back for two weeks since Thanksgiving, these two weeks have been so .... FIDGETY!! So many little times, especially when talking to my sister, I wanted to just buy a flippin' ticket and go home.
Brahreedabalah. I just want to go home. There's so much I want to do over winter break. Actually, I don't have many plans, but it'll be hella nice to just chill for a bit and hang out.

"Do Athletes Make Too Much?" - KIN 140
hEy, guys! It's been a while since I posted anything. I've been either procrastinating or feeling like there just wasn't much to post. Besides, too much was going on with course assignments before Thanksgiving break....and who wants to post anything during break?
Anyways, today something really interesting came up in my Social Science of Human Movement class. The topic today was "Sport And Economy". There were many interesting facts brought up about how owners and sports teams affect the nation's economy/city economies, but I'm not going to get into that because I'll just end up summing up the entire lecture... and I wouldn't even know where to begin with that. Honestly, I fell asleep (in the front row again T_T), but I was awake for something really interesting at the end of lecture.
For the final fifteen minutes, the class had a discussion about "Do professional sport athletes make too much?"
There were a lot of interesting ideas brought up and it was a great discussion. One of the arguments was that although athletes have really high salaries (many making millions), their careers are often very brief...which lead to an activity our lecturer, Mr. Drollet, ended the class with.
Mr. Drollet created a hypothetical situation to access how well an athlete can live for the rest of his/her life solely off of the salary amount from a few years of professional sports.
The subject is an NFL football player, who usually have short pro sport careers averaging about 3 years. There's always a lot of competition against new players in the league every year and there's also a high prevalence of injury in the NFL. Anyways, we'll say that this individual has a yearly salary of $770,000, which is the median amount. There are many that make much more, but we'll just give this guy the average amount. We'll pretend he's not the best athlete, but he's still pretty damn good to be in the NFL, so he doesn't make the most. What else about him...uh....the average football player's age is like 21, so we'll say our guy is 21 years old too. He played for 3 years and he was out by the time he was 24 years old. When does he die? We can give him the best chances ever and he lives until he's 68. That's pretty darn good considering he probably had a few years knocked out of him from being in the NFL.
Okay, let's throw this all together. So, we have a football player....let's call him Arnold.
So, Arnold started playing in the NFL since he was 21.
He stayed in the NFL until he was 24.
Arnold's salary was $770,000 per year for a total of three years.
In three years, this guy made a total of $2,310,000.
Is this enough to last him until he dies at age 68?
He still has...68 minus 24...44 years to live, solely off $2.31 mill.
$2,310,000 / 44 yrs = $52,500!!!!
Arnold, a mediocre pro-athlete, has $52,500 per year to live off of until he's dead. Given, in this calculation, I assumed he didn't spend a dime during the three years he was earning money. Even so, if I assumed he spent $20K every year he was in the NFL, he'll still have $51,136 for every year after his career.
I'm not saying they make too much money ( though that IS a lot of money), but I'm bringing this up because it was amazing seeing my lecturer work all this out in class and realizing "I am squat diddly poor". I knew they made a lot but when it's put into numbers this way, it's like "DDDAAAAAAMNNN!"
Anyways, it seems like I'm insinuating they DO make too much money, but I haven't brought up and of the pressures athletes face and issues with athletes being objectified by team owners and etc etc.
Well...this be all, folks! I don't know even know who the heck will read this, but it was fun typing it.
Enjoi!

SQUIRREL!!
The cutest squirrel was on the sidewalk nibbling away on a nut or seed or something. It was so cute. I was a foot away from it recording it and it didn't run away or anything. SO CUTE!! This is where Urbana squirrels differ from Chicago squirrels...URBANA SQUIRRELS AREN'T DOUCHES.
I never know which way I'm supposed to take videos or photos with my phone, so the actual media file is right-side-up. Clearly, I failed this time. My phone was right-side-up when I recorded it though...it's tricky.
Turn your heads, folks!

PRODUCT OF PRODUCTIVITY...NEW POSTS
I feel so good about this past week and this week thus far. A lot got done and it feels good to be on top of things. I'm back in control, baby.
I had a bit of a hectic weekend last week had a lot of various plans and things to do even though I SHOULD'VE STUDIED FOR MY STATISTICS EXAM THAT WAS ON MONDAY!!
Friday
-Neurocognitive Kinesiology Lab: I'm a test subject. Got a good 30 minute run, got hooked up to an EKG cap (basically a swimming cap with wires and crap that measures brain waves), did some cognitive tests...good stuff
-Bombay with TREEDACKIE and Connie...thanks to Vaishak for the recommendations. That Paneer was the best.
-Got to catch up with Beeckity...very refreshing
-Wal-Mart...tried on hats and stuff...still very tempted to buy this one grey earflap hat
Saturday
-breakfast and dance practice...awesome dance...failed at learning it
-picked up Jackie from football game (WE BEAT PURDUE! SUCK IT!!) ... I got to drive for the first time in forever ... I really miss riding a bike though
-skated around with Wing and practiced some breaking
-zombie make-up and zombie mob
-went out to eat at Manizella's? Marcinpello's? Maracoona's? I'm not sure
Sunday
I can't remember this day that much...I feel like this was the day I mostly studied for my exam... Who cares. I don't know.
Monday
Classes, reviewed, Health Statistics exam... aced the exam (hopefully)
Tuesday
-did laundry, got money order for Carle Therapy Services, turned in paperwork for volunteer, and studied for Social Science of Human Movement exam on Wednesday
-I was really, really proud of this day because I finally turned in my crap to volunteer at Carle Hospital!! It's been like two months. I have a way of planning to do so much, but I'm really bad at following through
Wednesday
-got immunization forms faxed to Carle, e-mailed professor about research opportunity, owned the exam, finished lab report, showered, and TA DA!! DID A BLOG POST!!
Given this is not the most exciting post, I still at least posted something. It's almost been a month!
I find that I'm not the best writer. Yikes! Very informal and I don't have that great flow others have. Oh well. I digress. Have fun, y'all! Going to sleep now.

Zombie Mob!!!
I got involved in a Thriller Zombie Mob on campus. It's like a yearly Halloween tradition between Allen Hall and ISR (two residence halls).
A bunch of people got together on several practice days spread out to two weeks before Halloween and we all learned the Thriller dance by Michael Jackson. On the Saturday of Halloween weekend, we got together at night and went to a bunch of different locations around campus and performed it as a mob. Got my make-up done (looking like a fool), did it at three locations, then had to go out for dinner. I went to dinner as a zombie too...I was looking more like a panda with a bloody nose though.
Anyways...zombie mob! It was really great learning it and it was super fun. At the end of the practices, the coordinators would do the dance to Toxic by Britney Spears. That was the best! I've still got to figure that out. I have a feeling that I'm not going to practice it and time is just going to pass and I slowly forget the dance altogether though. Poopy da doop!

AAA Family Olympiad / Cravings
Mo' bonding time with the AAA fam, nawww meeeen. We weren't close to winning the Olympiad, it was extremely cold, we were out there for hours for like four activities...but it was so much fun. It was really great spending time with my AAA family. Also, Jeffrey was on crack that day. Seriously, he's retarded. LOL.
Anyways, I just want to reiterate.... They're just all really cool people and we just really hit it off. We all get along and ... seriously. It's be dope, mang. Afterwards, we went to Cravings (local Chinese restaurant). The food was alright. This other place, Mandarin Wok, which we ate at with my mom, Simon, and Danny, was better. The chrysanthemum tea at Mandarin Wok is soooooooooooooooooooooo good. Cravings was pretty good too, but it's also really cheap. Plus, my big sibling treated me. YIPPEE!
During the whole dinner, we all had really good conversation and joked around and we might dress up together for Halloween. We're thinking of being either our favorite animals or dressing up as Pokémon. DIBS ON MR. MIME!!

Anti-Alzheimer's LED Watch
Since the first day of school, I found I always had to check what time it is and it was pretty annoying to always have to take out my phone, press unlock, and press okay. What's even worse than finding out the time was finding out the date. I always forgot before my classes (I date my notes), so it made it super inefficient to take out my phone like 4 times a day to check the date every single time. On top of that, my stupid phone only shows the date when you flip it up and wait like two seconds for it to load.
So, I decided to get a watch. Normally, I don't wear watches. In grade school, I had a bad habit of taking it off somewhere and forgetting to put it back on before I leave wherever I was. I lost three good watches in a very short amount of time that way. However, this time, I really felt like I needed one and lucky me, I found the best watch ever. It's an Anti-Alzheimer's watch!! Or at least that's what I call it.
This awesome watch uses binary to display the hour and minutes or month and day. SO DUH SEXXY!

AAA Family / Mafia
Within Asian American Association, we have these "families" with "bigs" and "littles" .... which are basically like big brothers/sisters and little brothers/sisters. Families will hang out together every once in a while and it's also to sort of expand the people you know within the club....or something....really sleep typing right now... uh...
Anyways, today was really nice. At night, the family all got together. The bigs brought dishes and we all had dinner together at one of the big's apartment. It was a pretty snazzy apartment with awesome orangey colored walls everywhere. It was a really good dinner except that my FOOD WON'T DIGEST!!! /punches stomach. Just kidding. I wish I could've eaten more....sad face.
After dinner, we played mafia. SOO FUN! This was my first time playing. Gosh darn it, it's so hard to figure out who is mafia though....and it's awkward as hell to fabricate a whole cover story and try to act like you're innocent if you're mafia. Narrator seems really fun. You get to make up imaginary stories for every event....improv practically. I would want to play mafia again with my friends back home.
This was the first time I met my big. She's extremely nice and I'm glad she's my big. She's really chill and friendly and not awkward so it wasn't awkward for me. Smiles. The rest of the family are really cool too. They're all really friendly people and it was a great time chilling quite comfortably with everyone. This Sunday is the AAA Family Olympiad (family versus family in like relays and shiz) and I'm really looking forward to that.

Do Da Dansing
So today was the first day I attended AAA dance practice. Boy oh boy oh boy I'm a little retarded at learning dances. I learn soooooo slow and I can't remember none of the moves. I can't even remember them to practice at home. There were a few others who are learning it for the first time too and they figured it out. Aish. Maybe I'm not focused enough. I'll focus better next time. FOCUS FOCUS FOCUS. FORD FOCUS!!
Anyways, all-in-all it was really fun learning choreography though. First, this girl Jae taught this really fun dance to "I'm Back" by Lee Hyori. It's fun and I like it but when I listen to the song, I can't even figure where in the song we start the choreo. Maybe it's a cut. Eh...whatevz. Next we started to learn Jeff's dance. Oy goyum, it's too sexxy for its shirt and stuff, ya know. It's hard too .... but so sexxy. Gotta practice mo' on that thang. Gotta learn to arm wave with my right arm and move my left leg consecutively. WHY CAN'T I MOVE MY LEFT LEG AND THEN MOVE IT AGAIN!?
Finally, the last dance I had practice for was an Indonesian dance. Check it out below.
At first, I thought it would be pretty simple, but it's soooo hard. It's so weird. Maybe I just suck at learning dances. Man oh man, these dances are difficult. Gotta step it up! Actually, I might not be doing the Indonesian dance though. :=/
Uh...that's all, folks! Practice again this Saturday. I will get the dances down then. YAHOO!!

Ponyta Dream.
I skipped my 8AM class today but as a result, I was able to stay and dream. I would say that's a pretty good trade-off...then I realized the class takes attendance. GULP.
Ponyta was a toy poodle. Like this, except with really little hair where you can see it's gray body. I couldn't find a bald poodle picture. I thought there would be many.
Anyways, my dream....
So, I walk out of the house toward the garage. My cousin Simon and my mom are in the garage. The garage door was like half up and they were hacking away at it at the bottom. I was like, "WTF ARE YOU GUYS DOING!" Oh yEah..THEY HAVE AXES!!!! So crazy. Anyways, they said the garage door was broken so they were trying to fix it. (My thoughts as I'm typing this: How would that have fixed it?) Oooh...let me a draw y'all a picture.
There's Simon, me, and my mom (from left to right). The dark bold horizontal line is supposed to be where the garage door end. It was a bit open, remember? And I tried to illustrate that by drawing what's outside the garage...trees and grass and shiz (though not really). And there you see in the red and orange where they were hacking at the garage door.
Continuing with the story, the garage door is broken and so they're hacking away at the bottom of the door, making a vertical gash. Ultimately, they decide "this isn't going to work". (No shit, Sherlock!) So they, say they have to "rip down the whole door". (Wait...what?) They both give it one last hack getting their axes stuck in the gash and then they use that leverage pull down the whole garage door.
There it is. the whole garage door got owned and it fills up the entire floor of the garage. I'm still in the corner with my hands by my face like 'WTF'. Oh shit....then the garage door starts rattling and Ponyta crawls out from under the garage door. (In the dream, I had a pet poodle named Ponyta)
Ponyta was a toy poodle. Like this, except with really little hair where you can see it's gray body. I couldn't find a bald poodle picture. I thought there would be many.
I ran to Ponyta and was like, "Holy moly! Are you okay?" I ran back inside where Becky was working in the dining room and asked her, "Do you know where Joe is?" "Yeah. He's right here." Joe was under her feet like Joe is under Amy's in this picture:
"Do you know where Ponyta is?" "I'm not sure." "That's right because Ponyta was in the garage!!" Then, I ran away and took Ponyta to take a bath in the basement. I filled up the tub...
...and tried to put Ponyta in, but then when I put her in, the water was too high and she was completely submerged. I let out some of the water and tested again. She was still too short. I let out a little more. She was still too short, but then I put her in anyways and she was swimming around the tub and I was like "Awwww......."
END OF DREAM!! It ended with Ponyta swimming around.

Purusa, "the Primal Man"
Yo! I'm going to drop some Asian Mythology on y'all asses.
I first got the idea cause I saw my little cousin, Kerlina's, Facebook page. She had this little figure in her main page and it reminded me of something--It reminded me of the story of Purusa.

Who is Purusa?
This is Purusa.
The Primal Man (not to be confused with the Primate Man like Teresa did. LOL)

●̮̮̃•̃) •••••►Head

Anyways, this is a creation myth in Indian Mythology during the early Vedic times. According to this story, the world came from all the different parts of Purusa. Purusa sacrificed himself to create the world. From his navel came the air, from his eyes came the sun and the moon.
From his head, he created the Brahmanas. A social caste that consisted of religious and academia roles such as the priests and teachers.
From his arms, he created the Ksatriyas. This was the warrior class.
From his thighs, he created the Vaishyas. These were the merchants, farmers, architects, doctors etc.
From his feet, he created the Sudras. These were the laboring class who were servants to the other three classes.
Despite this caste system, there was ranking based on wealth or power or anything. It was an egalitarian society. The priests, which might be taken as the most important, were actually the poorest. Being apart from worldy things, they were broke.
----
MNEUMONICS:
Brahmanas-Eh...I remember this well because Brahman and Brahmana and Brahmin etc is so commonly discussed.
Ksatriyas is pronounced 'sah-tree-ya' and in Chinese, "to kill" is pronounced 'saht' ... warriors kill so TA DA! Ksatriyas.
Vaishyas sounds just like my friend's name, Vaishak, who wants to be a doctor and lo' and behold, a doctor falls into the Vaishya class.
Sudra-I'll just think of it as 'SHOE-dra". Where do you wear shoes? FEET! Yeah man. And typically when you think of feet, the lowest part of the body, you think of laborers. Or at least I do. Done and done.

Mini-Os.
Every year, all the small groups in CFC (Covenant Fellowship Church) compete in an event called the Mini Olympics. It's a big competition with like 16 different competing groups...maybe more. I have no clizzle. But anyways...I represented...
...with Wing and company.
This is our ABEL team. I think we're missing a lot of people though. Hm...I don't know how it works. OH WAIT! It was ABEL 1&8. I guess this is just ... either 1 or 8. BGLJFDLSJDKLFJEKLJLD!
Anyways, I thought it would be like an awesome obstacle course relay race thing and it would've been really fun. BUT DAMN IT WAS SOOO TIRESOME! If maybe there wasn't so much athleticism involved, it would've been better....or if I didn't do all the spinning events.
Spin Relay. Each team chooses four participants. Each participant has to have their hand on a basketball and spin around it a minimum of 15 turns. When one is done spinning, he/she takes the ball and runs with it like half a block and pass it to the next teammate who does the same thing and so on. As a team, they have to have a total of 75 spins. If the first three people only spin 15 times, then the last person has to finish the 75 total and spin 30 times....this is what happened to me. Sad face.
Area Competition. There are five roles.
1. Suicides-Does suicides from one side to the other, having to complete a math question before running back to the start line and tagging the next person.
2. Runner-Effin runs around the whole field, which is like one lap around ... 4 tennis courts? Also, has to answer the math question afterwards.
3. Tire Carrier-Runs with three tires to other side, answers math Q, and runs back to tag next person.
4. Spinner (ME)-Spins around the effing basketball again 25 times, runs down to answer question, and runs back.
5. Anchor-Just going to run to answer math question, and run back to start.
It was a fun experience because the people are really, really nice and funny...and this one girl be flippin' CRAZY! She on crack, but she's really, really cool.

After we learned the basics, we had time to practice it a bit. We cyphered (got into a circle and danced). We each had to show what we learned and dance TO THE BEAT! (B-boy is "beat boy" ... not "breakdance boy") First, we threw in some toprock, got down and did some floorwork, and ended in a FREEZE (DIRTBAG)!
Then, we practiced some more and jazzed up what we learned with our own flavuh. Make our own little cool routine. Hellz yEah! Good shit!!
Aight, that's it. PAECE!
What could make a better day? MEATLOAF!!
It was soooo goood!! The whatever sauce thing that's on top was delicious .... it was a sweetish glaze thing that most likely also had ketchup. Very delicious. Took three pieces to-go in tupperware.

PAECE!

Work Out Day.
Anyways, I worked out for the first time (on Friday, Sept. 3rd). I only ran 2 miles with Wing and I died. Wing could've still kept going, but maan....my legs were dead for the next 3 days. I'm writing this today (Tuesday, Sept 9th) and I think I can finally run again tomorrow. Wing was fine though. EFF HIM! FIT BASTARD!!

IEMS.
Illini Emergency Medical Services.
Get CPR, First Responder, or EMT Certified! These are all certifications to be pre-hospital care...like paramedics. These certifications are actually steps right below paramedics. It goes Paramedic→EMT→First Responder→CPR certified.
They offer free CPR classes, which I signed up for October 10th. I'm so excited. I'll be certified within 4 hours. Smiles. These are just basics of first aid and treating a wound...and of course CPR.
First Responder classes seem really interesting too. In about 8 weeks totaling to 50 hours of class time, I can become a First Responder for $175.
EMT certification is actually like a course like any course in college (but without real college credit). It's like a whole semester for only $350. Normal classes elsewhere even at community colleges could easily be $1000.
If I could, I would love to do all of these because it's a national certification. And just think...if anyone was having a baby or fucking broke a bone, I would know how to treat them. I can also work at national events or sporting games. I would actually be doing volunteer work at university games after getting my certification. SO LEGIT, BABY!!
Also, the classes are really hands-on. Of course there is classroom time and book material...but they have demonstrations and practicals where they use volunteer models to help you learn. For example, last year for some of their tests, they would have volunteers covered in fake blood with a fake symptom and students would have to treat them as if it were the real thing. SO AWESOME!!

School Yard Brawl.
This was fucking amazing. I've never been to any breakdance competitions, but this was really good. This was in one of the huge ass mother fuckin' rooms in the Union by the way. There were a lot of really good dancers with amazing skills and so much charisma, one of the best things about seeing dancers. Wing and I watched everyone dance from 7PM to midnight. It started with an hour of b-boys/b-girls cyphering (getting in a circle and taking turns dancing). At 8PM, the competition officially began. It started with 16 crews with each round eliminating half until there was only one winner. After each round, there was a 15-minute break so the crews have a chance to rest. However, they just still danced and cyphered which was sugoi as hell! I WANT TO BREAKDANCE!!
These are the judges just showing a little bit of what they can do. They were cyphering throughout the day and the whole hour before the competition too. They were so sick. SICK! SICK!! SICK!!!
The next few videos are just some of the many rounds. Good shit. Nice moves and teamwork and musicality. What the hell does "musicality" mean? Uh...they were very good at listening and dancing to the music.
Finaly Round!!! Keep in mind: they've been dancing for five hours already, but this was still rull good. ( Hint: Wing (white tee) and I (black tee) are to the left of the big screen on the right. Also, I am pumping my arms at 00:27).
Oh yEah! There was a girl in the final round and she was killin' it the whole day. So hot!!
VISION!!! Or is it Sammy? ..... SAMMY!!!

"My Classes Be Like...
... Oooh Aaah"
Errbody be askin' "How's class?"
Well..I'll tell you! I'll go through all my classes even. Smiles.
KIN 125-Introduction to Kinesiology/Community Health
This is just an intro course required for all KIN and CHLH majors. It's just an eight week course for one credit hour. We started off just talking about the school resources and academic integrity and all that stuff. So far, it's not very interesting. Later on though, we'll get to the good stuff: GUEST SPEAKERS!!! I'm looking forward to that. The speakers are going to include researchers within the departments, physical therapists, occupational therapists. physicians, physical education teachers...etc. That'll be cool.
KIN 122-Physical Activity and Health
The class is pretty self-explanatory. It kind of seems like a physical education health class. The teacher is on crack. She's this Brazilian lady and she's so crazy. So excited....and on crack. I like her though. She also has us doing this blog activity where there are 15 groups within our class and every week, the groups have to post like 16 different items (webpages, blogs, podcasts, videos, journal articles, etc) related to the class topic of that week. It's very, very tedious...but eh...it's aight. I'm saving all the items from all the blogs, so I can learn a thing or two from these postings. All fitness, health, and wellness related.
KIN 140-Social Science of Human Movement
I had a preconceived notion about this class like "Oh man. It's going to be a bunch of readings and papers and social science stuff I won't understand" but it's not at all. The teacher is really funny (dork funny but really funny nonetheless). And we discuss a lot of different ideas. This class combines sociology, psychology, sports, and exercise and it's super interesting. I guess to me, it's just discussions I've never came across before, so it's very new and interesting to me. I look forward to this class errday.
KIN 150-Bioscience of Human Movement
Sad face. Sad face. This class is a lot of biology and chemistry stuff. It goes through all the reactions and processes that take place in your body (homeostatic control systems, metabolism, etc) on a microscopic level. It's so complicated and I don't get it. Aigoo!! I just understood glycolysis (conversion of glucose to ATP) today and it's fascinating when I can understand it but when I have no clue what's going on, it's extremely frustrating.
CHLH 144-Health Statistics
Your everyday stats class except all the examples and stuff are related back to life sciences. Stats itself is not interesting, but I really love the professor. Her personality is so beautiful. She's one of those professors who really loves her students and want to help them as much as she can. She's also always talking about the beauty of diversity and that we're all one and we're all human...and...and I love her. She's the nicest person in the whole entire world. And she's super smart too. She's got so many research stuff going on and she has so many different degrees.
"You know what's going to keep me warm?" "Those degreees."
ASST 104-Asian Mythology
This class focuses mostly on Indian mythology and we'll touch on Chinese and Japanese mythology. This class is actually very interesting--if only because my TA is super cool. He's really into the material and once he starts talking about something, he goes on and on but it's really interesting because he's very informal and his lingo is so funny. I love discussions! It's really cool with all the Gods and stuff too...Rta. Varuna. Shiva. Indra. Agni. Vrtra. Did you know there are like a couple hundred million gods or deities?
Anyways, to sum up. My classes are generally pretty good and I really like my teachers. Let's get straight A's this semester. HELL YEAH!! (FIST PUMP)

Carmen's Apartment.
So, I got a call from Carmen...
"Yo. Sup, dawg. What's crackin'?"
"Oh. Nuttin' much. Just chillaxin' at the crib. Naaaaw meen?"
"Get off yo fat ass and help us wit groceries. We bought all this grub, but we ain't got nuff handz."
"Shit! You fo' real? That much? If I help, I bettuh get some free food or sumthin"
"Nigga, please! Hurry yo ass to County Market and carry some potatoes."
"Nigga, please! Hurry yo ass to County Market and carry some potatoes."
And so I did. Carried groceries and Candy's books to their apartment. The apartment building was nothing like I imagined. It was my fault though cause I realized I was imagining like a whole condo thing. But it was pretty nice. Outside, they're got a ton of open grass to do whatever, a sandpit volleyball court, tennis courts, an outdoor pool...maybe basketb (I can't remember). And inside, it was very neat and they have the best carpet ever!! SO SOFT!! And Carmen brought panes of glass to use as dry-erase. So clevah.
Got there, tried working on a crossword, and fell asleep while they made dinner.
Kevin H to the left, Miranda H to the right. |
While they ate, I went to Carmen's room and did yoga on the SUPER SOFT CARPET!! Sun Salutations Part One?

THE NASTY.
So, this was my first day here and it was pretty good day. Ate, shopped, cleaned up, chilled .... then "the nasty" happened.
When I went to shower at night, some guy is passed out naked. MY EYES!!
Why couldn't he have been in the side showers? ... or had his curtain up?
(Refer to above diagram) yEah...There was NO way to avoid seeing this naked nuisance.
That's exactly how he looked: inebriated, naked, wet. Well...less alien/Voldemort-like. But ... whatever. It's just a rough sketch. Also, I didn't draw the nudie parts because ... that's sick.
yEp! Very interesting first day. I hope I don't encounter any more of this.
OH YEAH! ANOTHER "THE NASTY" STORY! Some idiot on our floor kept peeing on all the toilet paper rolls and on the floor. Once, he did it in the afternoon and we were all like, "WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THIS CHRONIC PEE EVERYWHERE-ER!"

The Quad.
This is our quad. It's pretty ridic big compared to the UIC quad. Just to give you an idea of exactly how big it is, two laps around our quad already make up 3 miles. Lots of room to lay, to nap, to play frisbee, etc etc. The best part is that it's sloped, so when going down one way on longboard, it's soooooooooooooo fun!!
The building alll the waaay on the other side of the quad is called the Union.
The Union.
Flippin' trees all in the way and stuff. Anyways, this is the Union. For those who are familiar with UIC, it's the equivalent of SCE. They have a food court, rec room (bowling, billiards, video arcade), student lounges, tech labs, convenience stores, outside patios, conference rooms, ballrooms, multi-purpose space for dance and stuff. It's a really awesome place.
The Foellinger Auditorium.
I took the quad picture in front of this gigantic building on the big ass platform. This is on one end of the quad while the Union is on the opposite end.
The auditorium hosts many of the student productions and performances. This is also the largest lecture hall on the whole campus. This bad boy can seat 1750 students (assuming each student fits one seat). ¡Increíble!
